Liverpool fixture update as opening three Premier League games moved

Liverpool's opening three games have been rearranged after the first round of live television matches were confirmed.

The Reds will now have to wait until 5.30pm on Saturday, August 14 to begin their Premier League campaign at promoted Norwich City after the fixture was chosen for live coverage on Sky Sports.

Liverpool's first home game against Burnley has been brought forward to 12.30pm on Saturday, August 21 and will be shown live on BT Sport.

And the following weekend's visit of Chelsea will also be live on television, taking place at 5.30pm on Saturday, August 28 and broadcast on Sky Sports.

With supporters now allowed back in stadia having been locked out for the best part of 15 months, television broadcasters are no longer compelled to show every game live.

Liverpool are planning on hosting a capacity crowd for the first time since March 2020 with the visit of Burnley.

The Government are aiming to lift most coronavirus restrictions on July 19 having postponed the date by four weeks due to concerns over the Delta variant.

Liverpool fixtures to be shown on TV confirmed so far:

August 14 - Norwich v Liverpool, 5.30pm kick-off on Sky Sports

August 21 - Liverpool v Burnley, 12.30pm kick-off on BT Sport

August 28 - Liverpool v Chelsea, 5.30pm kick-off on Sky Sports
