Liverpool find out potential 2019 FIFA Club World Cup final opponents

Liverpool have found out who they could face in the final of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.

The Reds are in Qatar for the tournament which brings together winners of Champions Leagues from around the globe, while host nation Qatar also entered Al-Sadd in the competition.

Jurgen Klopp 's men meet Monterrey tomorrow in their semi-final and should they progress, a tie against Flamengo in the final awaits after the Brazilians edged out Al-Hilal.

The tournament began on December 11 when Al-Sadd beat OFC Champions League winners (Oceanian) Hienghene Sport 3-1 in the first round.

Mexican side and CONCACAF Champions League (North/Central America) winners Monterrey then defeated Al-Sadd 3-2 in the second round, while AFC Champions League winners (Asia) Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia brushed aside CAF Champions League champions (Africa) Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia 1-0 in the other second round tie.

Copa Libertadores (South America) winners Flamengo and European Champions League holders Liverpool both make their bow in the competition at the semi-final stage but now the Brazilian side have progressed through to the final.

Goals from Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Bruno Henrique and an own goal by Ali Al-Bulaihi helped Flamengo overturn a 1-0 deficit to prevail 3-1. Al-Hilal's only goal of the contest came thanks to Salem Al-Dawsari's first-half effort.

Liverpool face Monterrey in the other semi-final tomorrow at the Khalifa International Stadium (5:30pm kick-off GMT).
