Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah sends title warning to Man City ahead of Sunday's clash

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has warned Manchester City that the Premier League title race will not be decided regardless of Sunday's result.

Pep Guardiola's side travel to Anfield on Sunday trailing Liverpool by six points at the top of the table.

A win for the Premier League champions would reduce the gap to three points, while Jurgen Klopp's side could tighten their grip by extending their advantage to nine points.

However, given City managed a 14-game winning run to turnaround a seven-point deficit in January, Salah has insisted that Sunday's result at Anfield will not decide the title winners, regardless of the scoreline.

"They were talking about that in December last year when we were six or seven points ahead," Salah told Sky Sports.

"It is not over. It is three games. If you go through a period of time and lose three games, you are in trouble.

"Even if we win, it is a long way. We are in November, it is too early to talk about the Premier League."

City head into the game without several key players, much to the frustration of Guardiola.

Goalkeeper Ederson joined David Silva, Rodri, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane on the injury list after pulling up in the Champions League.

The Brazilian was substituted at half-time during City's 1-1 draw with Atalanta on Wednesday, with Claudio Bravo set to deputise at Anfield.

The ex-Barcelona stopper's nerves won't have been helped by being sent off in Italy after coming on, which left Kyle Walker taking over between the sticks for the remainder of the match.
