Liverpool FC sell out of 'Champions 19-20' kits

In what is unlikely to come as a shock to anybody, the Liverpool FC online store have run out of commemorative 'Champions 19-20' shirts.

The announcement was made on Liverpool's official 'LFC Retail' Twitter page.

Pre-orders had been made immediately available in the aftermath of Thursday's confirmation, but demand is currently outstripping supply.

Even prior to the success that will now be attached to it, the 2019-20 kit was already the best sold shirt in the club's history.

It had originally been designed as a retro homage to some of the great kits from the club's historic past.

This season's achievement from Jurgen Klopp and his players has now cemented the shirt - the last of the New Balance era - as a classic in its own right.

The shirt, which comes complete with gold 'Champions 19-20' lettering, was first seen worn by vice-captain Virgil van Dijk in an interview with BT Sport following Man City's defeat to Chelsea.

The LFC online store does currently contain an 'EPL Champions' section. While adult version of the kit are no longer available even on pre-orders, junior versions are.

It's not yet known when pre-orders will return, however it's unlikely the club will let such an obvious commercial opportunity slip by ahead of an expected 'relaunch' with Nike's kits in time for the next season.
