Liverpool FC's Thiago Alcantara 'proud' as he announces new career venture

Thiago Alcantara was "proud" to announce he is now an ambassador with Tommy Hilfiger.

The midfield maestro revealed his new career venture in a post with his 9.9m Instagram followers. The 31-year-old has endured an injury hit campaign so far as he was forced off with a hamstring complaint in the opening game of the season against Fulham.

However, he made a triumphant return to the starting XI as he put in a player of the match performance in the dramatic 2 - 1 win over Ajax in the Champions League. Thiago is now able able to enjoy a long break before LFC's next game against Brighton as he has been left out of the Spain squad for the upcoming international fixtures.

Thiago has travelled back to his former home city in Munich as he enjoys Oktoberfest. However, he was taken a break from his holiday to announce he is now a partner with the American designer brand Tommy Hilfiger for the Autumn/Winter watch and jewellery collection.

He said: "New season, new trends. So proud to be partnering with Tommy Hilfiger Watches. Love their style!"

A statement from Tommy Hilfiger said: "Thiago Alcantara’s ambassadorship celebrates his dedication to athletic excellence, determined optimism and social responsibility."

It added: "The full men’s collection offers styles from sleek and minimalist, to sophisticated statement-makers The inaugural monogram jewellery for men includes a silver rugged link bracelet and the reimagined stainless steel dog tags, both featuring the TH logo."

Thiago's wife, Julia Vigas, swooned with pride following the update as she responded with a series of fire emojis.
