Liverpool FC Luis Diaz's girlfriend shares support after injury setback

Luis Diaz's girlfriend Gera Ponce shared an emotional Instagram post after the Reds forward suffered an injury setback this week.

Diaz has not played for Liverpool since the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in early October after sustaining a knee injury, but was poised to return in the mid-season friendly fixtures in Dubai before he suffered another setback on Friday. Reports in Diaz's native Colombia have claimed he will need surgery and be absent until March.

Sharing a number of snaps of Diaz in hospital, his girlfriend Gera Ponce said: "Sometimes the difficulties that happen in our life, they prepare us directly to place ourselves on an extraordinary path. On a better way.

After LFC lost 3-1 to Lyon in the Dubai Super Cup on Sunday Jurgen Klopp said of Diaz : "He is not in the best possible place [mentally], that is clear. It was a big disappointment for all of us and him as well. It was a nothing situation in training, honestly."
