Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard reveals Manchester United Europa League wish

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says he would love to be drawn against Manchester United in the group stages of the Europa League.

The Scottish side booked their place in the tournament on Thursday night as they defeated Legia Warsaw 1-0 over two legs thanks to a dramatic winner from Alfredo Morelos.

Victory for Rangers sees them qualifying for the group stage for the second successive season under the guidance of the Liverpool legend, and he is now dreaming of a big British tie.

Rangers and United last met in the Champions League group stages nine seasons ago, and Gerrard admits he'd love to make one more trip to Old Trafford.

Asked if he fancied facing Arsenal or United in Friday’s draw, Gerrard smiled: “I wouldn’t mind going to Old Trafford and parking the bus!"

"You saw the place at the end and there wasn’t a prouder man in the building than me.

“One of the reasons I took the job was the support. From the outside, I could see the pain and disappointment. I wanted to come in and help.

“It’s moments like tonight that make me feel so proud and make it feel worthwhile. I’m glad I signed up to it.

“I wanted nights like this from a personal point of view. But to see my players celebrating with the 47,000 fans at the end, it was an emotional time. I was so proud to be the manager of this club out there."
