Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher takes cheeky Manchester United swipe during title race talk

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has taken a cheeky swipe at Manchester United ahead of the meeting between the two sides following the international break on October 20.

The Reds sit top of the Premier League table thanks to eight consecutive wins which have the club eight points clear of two-time reigning champions Manchester City.

United, meanwhile, have struggled through the opening eight games of the campaign and have amassed just nine points.

Defeats to Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle have all put pressure on the side and now Carragher has chosen to jump on the bandwagon.

Carragher has been on talkSPORT and when asked about whether he had printed out title winning t-shirts, he had quite the witty response.

Liverpool fans infamously prematurely printed t-shirts declaring that they were going to win the league during the 2013/14 season under Brendan Rodgers when Man City pipped the Reds by two points.

But Carragher was quick to deflect the banter towards United during his stint on talkSPORT.

Asked if Liverpool have printed out any t-shirts yet, Carragher responded: "Yes, how bad are Manchester United?"

On Liverpool's title chances, Carragher added: "We will see. If Liverpool can gain an eight-point lead over Manchester City, then Manchester City can claw that back over 30 games.

"But Liverpool's next two games are Manchester United away and Tottenham at home. It's always difficult for Liverpool to go to United. The record is not great there."
