Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher explains what he loves about Man City's Raheem Sterling

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has identified what he loves about Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, stating that the England international avoids injury issues.

The 25-year-old has excelled since leaving Anfield for City, lifting numerous titles and establishing himself as one of the best players in world football.

His return in front of goal has also increased significantly under Pep Guardiola's guidance, scoring 59 in 155 appearances compared to 18 in 91 league matches for Liverpool.

However, despite the many attributes in Sterling's game, Carragher believes the best thing about Sterling is his avoidance of long-term injury issues.

“I think right now if you were buying him, you’d be buying him for the future as well," he told Sky Sports.

"The thing I love about Sterling is that he is never injured, his high-intensity running is off the scale and he’s now getting lots of goals as well. I think he’s a brilliant player and he’s only going to get better in the future.”

In the five years since moving to the Etihad Stadium, Sterling has remarkably missed out 25 of 180 Premier League matches - including featuring in 24 of 28 games this season before the campaign was suspended.
