Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes Jurgen Klopp is copying an aspect of Sir Alex Ferguson’s great Manchester United sides.
The Reds are currently locked in a fierce battle with Manchester City as they seek to end a 29-year wait for a league title, with Klopp’s side currently trailing by a single point heading into the final six games of the weekend.
Liverpool are showing no signs of slipping though, winning four consecutive matches across all competitions to keep the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side.
Should Klopp end the long wait for Premier League glory at Anfield, he will establish himself as a club icon and Aldridge has spotted one way that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is showing comparisons to Ferguson.

“There was a fear factor associated with Alex Ferguson’s title-winning Manchester United teams. And one key aspect of their success has crept into the current Liverpool side,” he wrote in a column for the Irish Independent.
“You could see opponents visibly cracking when United pushed for late winners in what became known as ‘Fergie Time’, and that quality is now in evidence as Liverpool aim to end their long wait for a Premier League title.”
Liverpool’s latest win over Tottenham Hotspur came in dramatic fashion as an own goal from Toby Alderweireld in added time secured all three points for the Reds.
Prior to that, the Reds scored a penalty in the last ten minutes of their win over Fulham and found the back of the net in added time against Burnley, quelling any fears of a late fightback from the Clarets.
