Liverpool FC handed key injury blow amid Premier League title race with Man City

Andy Robertson was forced off at half-time of Liverpool's Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona with an ankle injury.

The left-back collided with former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez during the first half at Anfield and was unable to continue after the break.

It compiles Jurgen Klopp's injury woes with Naby Keita, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino all sidelined in the build-up to the Premier League's final day on Sunday.

Manchester City sit a point clear of Liverpool after Vincent Kompany inspired the Blues to victory over Leicester on Monday night and Pep Guardiola's side will retain the league title for the first time in their history with victory against Brighton, regardless of how Liverpool fare against Wolves.

Kompany's 30-yard strike - the Blues' only goal against Leicester - was his first goal from outside the box since 2007 and the City captain said the frustration of being told not to shoot inspired him to break the deadlock.

Pep Guardiola claims Man City have had to deal with more pressure than Liverpool FC

"I didn't score this season but for me I always feel in big moments, in moments like this, that I'm going to do something," he said. "I don't know if it's a header, anything, I always feel I'm going to do something.

"Today was a little bit of frustration because everyone was saying 'don't shoot, don't shoot'. I could really hear it and it was annoying me and I said 'hold on a second, I've not come this far in my career for young players to tell me when I can take a shot or not. So I just took it.

"All I'm going to say is I’ve scored goals like that in training."
