Liverpool FC great Jamie Carragher hammers Manchester United after their loss at Everton

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United 's 4-0 defeat at Everton was their worst performance since Sir Alex Ferguson left - and most fans would probably agree.

United haven't won the Premier League title since Ferguson retired, with their last domestic league success coming at the end of the 2012/13 season.

The Red Devils have enjoyed some highs and lows since Ferguson left but perhaps the lows have not been as bad as they were at Goodison Park on Easter Sunday.

Carragher believes it was the worst defeat United have had since Ferguson retired, with the former Liverpool star making the claims during his appearance on Monday Night Football where he briefly analysed the defeat.

Paul Pogba responds to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer comments about Manchester United players not caring enough

"I expect a performance vs Man City. We all have one of those bad days in a season. Man Utd have had five or six. That was the worst performance since Alex Ferguson left," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"There will have been harsh words since the game at the training ground. When something is that bad you are now fighting for your own pride."

There have been a number of shocking displays since Ferguson retired six years ago. From a Premier League perspective, losses at the likes of Stoke City in 2015 and Brighton and West Ham last year stand out. But Carragher might just have a point about the Everton defeat being the worst since Fergie departed. It has not been a happy Easter for the Red Devils that's for sure.
