Liverpool FC fans who travelled to Barcelona call view of the pitch 'utter disgrace'

Reds fans who made the trip to Barcelona were less than impressed with their view of the game.

Away supporters at Camp Nou were housed in the upper tiers of the famous stadium - but the distance from the pitch was not the only issue they had to deal with.

Netting and Plexiglass - as well as the structures that held both up - prevenI ted a clear view of the Champions League semi-final for many.

It could have been worse - the hosts were not willing to negotiate on the prices for the travelling Reds, meaning the near-5,000 visitors faced a bill of £103 for the questionable view.

In response Liverpool FC decided to charge Barcelona fans the same for the Anfield return leg - then use the extra money to reduce away ticket costs by £27.

FC Porto - Liverpool's quarter-final opponents - had agreed to a mutual price drop for travelling fans.

Of those who made the trip to Barcelona , several turned to social media to highlight their disappointment at the view.

They included the ECHO's Dan Kay, who wrote: "Amazing place but joke of a spec. Up the Reds anyway."

Others commented on the view as an "utter disgrace" and one fan added: "If it weren't for the plexiglass and netting this would be some view."
