Liverpool FC defender says Brendan Rodgers owes him ahead of Leicester's Man City clash

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has urged Brendan Rodgers to do the Reds a favour when Leicester City clash with Manchester City on Monday evening.

The Reds moved top of the pile after a dramatic victory over Newcastle United on Saturday, putting the ball back in City ’s court as Pep Guardiola’s side need a win against Leicester to reclaim top-spot ahead of the Premier League’s finale next Sunday.

Liverpool know they have done all they can this week and are now hoping for a favour from Leicester - and Robertson has suggested that Rodgers owes him after he left the full-back’s boyhood club Celtic for a position with the Foxes earlier this season.

"I don't know. I've not shied away from the other ones, it's not worked, so maybe I'll try something different!” He told the club’s official website when asked if he will watch City’s match on Monday.

Rebekah Vardy's tweet after Liverpool FC game might have Man City fans worried

"Look, if I watch it or don't watch it, it's not going to make a difference. I'm a Celtic fan, Brendan's left us so he maybe owes me one!

"Leicester City are a good team but Manchester City are unbelievable, they've had eight days to recover from a heavy schedule, so we are expecting City to get off to a good start so hopefully Leicester can hold on.

"We won't expect anything but all we can do is take it down to the last game. We've done that so we'll look forward to next Sunday.”
