Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp makes Manchester United admission

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that last weekend's draw against Manchester United has forced him into rethinking his plans in away games - especially at Old Trafford.

United's gamplan in the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last Sunday frustrated the Premier League leaders, who were thankful for a late Adam Lallana goal salvaging a point.

And ahead of Liverpool's clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this weekend, Klopp spoke about his team's need to improve away against their rivals. Klopp has never won at Old Trafford in his time in charge of Liverpool.

"For us, we have to improve how to play an away game at Manchester United because once again we were not really ourselves," he said in a press conference.

"It's true, when they are against us, since I've come to England, they set up in a different way.

"With Tottenham it's different, it's a home game. With Tottenham it always feels as though if they do this [clicks fingers] then they are back again."

Klopp initially accused United of playing a defensive game, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were the superior side for long periods, yet both sides settled for a draw.

"I’m not the person who should be frustrated by United’s style. In the last years they just defend, that’s how it is, it’s no criticism, it’s just a fact," Klopp said after the game.

"When you think United v Liverpool you think both teams attacking, but it’s not. You [United] can’t play against each team like this."
