Liverpool favourite Fernando Torres delivers brutal assessment of his Chelsea spell

The curtain has come down on Fernando Torres' illustrious career and the Spaniard has plenty of good memories to look back at fondly from his career.

From his long spell with boyhood club Atletico Madrid, to his prolific time with Liverpool and his international exploits with Spain, there's plenty for the 35-year-old to be proud of.

Unfortunately Torres doesn't seem to look at his time with Chelsea with the same warmth.

Torres spent two and a half years playing for the Blues where he won an FA Cup, a Champions League and a Europa League title before heading to AC Milan on a two-year loan deal - a period which saw him fail to live up to his previous heights at Anfield.

The striker came in for criticism during his time at Stamford Bridge, and didn't speak as fondly about his time in west London.

He told AS –  via Sport Witness  – that Liverpool was “a dramatic step” for him and that his time at Anfield was “a feeling I do not want to lose nor forget.”

AC Milan, for whom Torres played just 10 times, are mentioned as being “a great club” while his final team, Sagan Tosu in Japan have been an “amazing experience.”

Chelsea meanwhile, are merely referred to his cold, business-like terms.

Torres describes them as the club that “gave me what I always longed for, the titles.”
