Liverpool fans will love what former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said about Anfield

Arsene Wenger has said that Anfield, the home of Liverpool is one of the most difficult places to play in Europe.

The Reds' extended their unbeaten home run to 46 Premier League games at their home ground with a 3-1 win over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday. They were last beaten at Anfield by Crystal Palace in April 2017.

Liverpool have also won their past 13 top flight home matches under Jurgen Klopp, that run includes a 3-1 victory over Arsenal back in August.

One person who visited Anfield a few times during his time in the Premier League is former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, and speaking after the match, the Frenchman spoke of the difficulty of playing in the stadium.

"Lucky for Liverpool it's witnessed changed games in Europe, for a big part it is down to Anfield," he said on BeIN Sports .

"It's the hardest place in Europe, if you look here it's the only place now where you can take a corner and shake hands with the supporters and you can say "hello my brother, how are you?" And still continue to play football."

"That's a real football field, today we build sophisticated stadiums, but that is a stadium with soul with pressure really on the opponent."

Luckily for Arsenal, they have already completed their trip to Anfield this season, a game which they lost 3-1 thanks to goals from Joel Matip and a Mo Salah brace.
