Liverpool fans will love Adrian's former West Ham team-mate's verdict after injury scare

Adrian's former West Ham team-mate Kevin Nolan is confident that Liverpool's number two will be fit to face Southampton on Saturday.

The Spaniard, 32, was injured during by a fan during the post-match celebrations after their win over Chelsea in the Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Manager Jurgen Klopp had suggested he could miss the Saints game although Adrian appeared optimistic of featuring this afternoon.

"Today I feel much better," Adrian told the club website.

"I hope after more treatment it's going to be much better. I'm very optimistic to start playing on Saturday again.".

Nolan agrees, explaining on BBC Five Live's Friday Night Social: "Listen, he's playing. I know Adrian and he won't miss that game.

"Unless he has a broken ankle I am more or less sure he will play in that game. It's too big for him. He knows this is his time to prove to West Ham, his time to shine.

"He is one of those who loves the limelight, he loves being on this stage. I am sure he will play"
