Liverpool fans will hate Everton's brilliant Tottenham Champions League chant

Everton fans made their allegiances clear as the Toffees brought down the curtain on their Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur, the team that will face Liverpool in the Champions League final in June.

In a positive atmosphere at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the away fans took the opportunity to throw their support behind their opponents in their endeavours to bring the biggest prize in European club football back to north London.

The match ended 2-2 with goals from Eric Dier, Cenk Tosun, Christian Eriksen and former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.

However, Everton fans sought to encourage Spurs in the hope that Mauricio Pochettino and his players could deny their cross-city rivals in Madrid on June 1.

If the Reds win, they will claim their sixth Champions League trophy, including their success in the competition during the European Cup era.

Tottenham will be underdogs in the showdown in the Spanish capital, and while Liverpudlians may enjoy one of the better tempered rivalries in English football, not too many Evertonians will want to see their neighbours prosper.

During the game, some of the visitors broke into song with a chant that made their feelings over the Champions League final clear.

After an inconsistent season under Marco Silva, Everton finished their Premier League campaign in eighth behind Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

They have been tipped to threatened the established elite in the top six next year if they get their recruitment right this summer and retain their best players.

However, Spurs may throw a spanner in the works for the Toffees if their interest in Andre Gomes sees the midfielder move to the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over a permanent switch to Goodison Park.
