Liverpool fans have urged Jurgen Klopp to field a strong team against Aston Villa this evening.
The Reds' FA Cup clash at VIlla Park has been confirmed as going ahead, with Villa set to field a mixture of under-23s and youth players after a Covid-19 outbreak in their first-team squad.
It means there will be a similar situation in terms of line-ups to when Liverpool faced Villa in the Carabao Cup last season, just with roles reversed, as the Reds fielded a team of youngsters due to their involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Villa won that game 5-0 and Reds fans have not forgotten the fact their opponents fielded a full-strength side, urging Klopp to do the same in a bid to get the goals flowing again after a period of mixed form.
The game has been confirmed as going ahead after Villa's makeshift squad all returned negative coronavirus test.
Villa have been forced to cobble a side of under-23s and under-18s together for the game after their entire first-team bubble, including manager Dean Smith and his staff, were forced into isolation due to a large number of positive cases being reported.
Each member of the youth squad was tested on Thursday, with results being fast-tracked to this morning.
With the squad testing negative, the game can now go ahead at Villa Park.
The FA have previously confirmed that, while there is no guarantee of a team being forced to forfeit an FA Cup tie due to a high number of Covid-19 cases, they will take a dim view on clubs asking for postponements.
It is a stance that has also impacted other ties, with Derby County also set to be forced into fielding a youth team against non-league Chorley.
Villa's Premier League game against Spurs in midweek is still considered to be a serious doubt, however.
