Liverpool fans troll Man Utd over VAR decision which gave Barcelona key away goal

Rival Liverpool fans could not resist with a dig as 'VAR karma' came back to bite Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were handed a late winner at PSG in the last 16 after a controversial handball at the death in Paris.

But this time the shoe was on the other foot.

The offside flag was rightly ruled wrong with Luis Suarez's attempt eventually going in off Luke Shaw.

Opposition supporters were quick to point out that it works both ways on twitter.

One said: "VAR giveth (vs PSG),VAR taketh away (now)".

Another wrote: "The same VAR that helped Man Useless against PSG worked against them tonight. Ha ha. Who is laughing now?"

While one said on twitter: "That is the definition of karma they'll be moaning about it now YNWA!!"

You can only wonder what boxer Tyson Fury made of it all.

The Reds fan didn't want to miss his side's big European night.

The Gypsy King said in December that was determined to fight Deontay Wilder at Old Trafford.

But he will now face Tom Schwarz on June 15 instead, likely in Las Vegas.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer predicted before the PSG game that VAR wouldn't have an impact on the outcome.

"VAR has been part of football lately now and players are getting used to it,” he said.

“We had it in the FA Cup, we've had some introduction to it. It's a good thing if it's a clear and obvious decision that has to be made, but it's still opinions that the referee has to make.

“For me, I like to have the discussion the day after [the match]. Was it a penalty, was it not a penalty? Like football has always been. But it's not going to be an issue.”
