Liverpool fans travelling to Paris warned over 135 euro fines

Liverpool fans will be making the journey over (or under) the Channel later this month as the Reds take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Thanks to a stunning defeat against Villarreal, Jurgen Klopp has led his team to a third Champions League final and his fourth European final as Liverpool boss. UEFA confirmed earlier this year that this season’s Champions League final has been moved to Paris from St Petersburg - following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Champions League final was set to be played at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg after last year's showdown between Chelsea and Manchester City was moved to Portugal. But the showpiece event will now take place at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on May 28.

Liverpool fans will use different methods of transport to get to the final, and those travelling to Paris by car are warned over rules that could land them with a fine of up to 130 euros.

Paris is a restricted traffic area, meaning all vehicles travelling in the French capital must carry a "Crit'Air" anti-pollution sticker. The stickers determine each vehicle's carbon emissions.

Anyone driving a vehicle through Paris without one of these stickers can be fined. Penalties currently range from 68 to 135 euros.

The stickers can be obtained here and cost 4 euros, or around £3.50.
