Liverpool fans spot four title omens as Premier League fixtures confirmed

Liverpool fans are getting excited after discovering who the Reds will play on the opening day of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The fixtures were released on Wednesday morning as Jurgen Klopp's side were handed a trip to newly-promoted Norwich City for their first outing of the campaign.

Taking place on Saturday 14 August, Liverpool also opened their season against the Canaries the last time Daniel Farke's side were a Premier League outfit back in 2019.

The Reds ran out 4-1 winners at Anfield that day thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Divock Origi and a Grant Hanley own goal as they embarked on a sensational eight-game winning and 27-match unbeaten run from the start of the league campaign.

Liverpool, of course, ended the 2019/20 season as Premier League champions as the Reds ended their 30-year drought to win the English top-flight.

And with Klopp's men again opening against Norwich, fans were quick to point out the potential omen as a sign that Liverpool will reclaim the title from Man City in the upcoming season.

That wasn't the only omen that fans were able to point out though, with one supporter spotting that the Reds travel to Manchester United in October and take on Leicester City in the last game of the calendar year, with both also occurring during Liverpool's 2019/20 Premier League-winning campaign.

Meanwhile, Klopp's side finish the season at home to Wolves, which was also their final day match before winning the Champions League in 2019.

Premier League and Champions League double, anyone?
