Of course Virgil van Dijk will play in the game, and in recent weeks Joel Matip has impressed when he's been stationed alongside the Dutchman.
But Lovren's availability would have allowed Klopp to consider rotation ahead of the Premier League game with Cardiff at the weekend, especially with doubts over whether Joe Gomez is fit enough to feature just yet.
