Liverpool fans sent strong Jurgen Klopp message as Mohamed Salah opens up on 'tough' spell

Here is your Liverpool morning digest on Monday, February 15.

Lineker offers support to Klopp

Gary Lineker has jumped to the defence of Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool's recent run of poor form in the Premier League.

The Reds have now lost their last three games in the top flight, most recently being beat 3-1 at Leicester City despite initially taking the lead.

Klopp's side are now 13 points adrift of Manchester City at the top of the table, with the leaders having played one game less.

The German coach admitted himself that his side are out of this season's title race following Saturday's collapse at the King Power Stadium.

There have been some rumours regarding Klopp's job, but club sources insist there is no truth in them.

Lineker has called on the Reds boss to be supported during this tough time and cannot quite believe some of the criticism he is receiving.

The former Everton striker tweeted: "A question to the small minority of @LFC fans calling for Klopp to be removed: have you completely lost your minds?"

Lineker, wisely, has looked at the bigger picture and what Klopp has done for the Reds in his time as manager.

Salah makes promise to fans

Mohamed Salah has promised Liverpool supporters that they will "fight like champions" between now and the end of the season.

The Reds' latest defeat may be the toughest one to take after such a strong performance for 78 minutes against Leicester.

The champions were seemingly in control before James Maddison levelled the game through a controversial free-kick. That came 11 minutes after Salah had handed Liverpool the lead at the King Power through an expertly taken finish.

The Egyptian - who scored his 17th goal of the Premier League campaign on Saturday - has now taken to his Twitter page to make a promise to his adoring fans.

He tweeted: "It’s been a tough period for many reasons. We are champions and we will fight like champions, until the very end.

"We will not allow this season to be defined by the recent results we’ve had. That is my promise to all of you."

Salah's promise could start on Tuesday as the Reds make the trip to Budapest to face RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.
