Liverpool fans send Mohamed Salah warning after latest contract message

Liverpool supporters have sent a clear message to FSG following Mohamed Salah’s latest update on his contract situation with the club.

Salah has once again reiterated his desire to remain at Liverpool in an interview with GQ magazine, but has also admitted his Anfield future is now out of his own hands.

The Egyptian's current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2023 and Liverpool are keen to keep him at the club.

The Reds are keen to reward Salah for his continued outstanding contribution since arriving from Roma for £43.9million in the summer of 2017.

And although the ECHO understands that negotiations are ongoing between the forward's representatives and the club, a deal is yet to be struck.

However, Liverpool fans reacting to Salah’s latest comments have warned the club’s owners FSG that they will not be forgiven if they allow the forward to leave.

Speaking on his Liverpool future, the forward told GQ magazine : “I want to stay, but it's not in my hands. It's in their hands. They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy stuff.

“The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something because they appreciate what you did for the club.

“I've been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It's in their hands.”

The GQ article also added: "To Salah, it's about more than the money. It's about recognition."

And the author wrote: "Salah's representatives say reports that Salah is currently paid £10.4m a year are inaccurate but otherwise would not comment on negotiations."
