The England team news was met with disappointment from Liverpool fans as once again Jordan Henderson has been named on the bench for England's Euro 2020 clash with the Czech Republic.
Henderson has been named on the bench for both matches against Croatia and Scotland with the draw on Friday against the Scots leading to England supporters calling for changes.
The Reds skipper has been side-lined through injury since February after he limped off in the first half of Liverpool's 2-0 defeat to Everton.
There has been doubts over his inclusion in Southgate's squad, spearheaded by the manager who gave him his Sunderland debut, Roy Keane, with the 31-year-old only having 45 minutes of competitive football since his groin injury which required surgery.
"I was convinced Jordan was going to play the other day (against Austria, in a pre-tournament friendly). I think it's a huge distraction - he's clearly not fit," Keane said.
"I've heard a lot of people say they want him around the place. For what?
"Does he do card tricks? Does he have a sing-song? Does he do quizzes in the evening? What does he do?"
But the Liverpool captain received support from fellow teammates and manager Gareth Southgate.
However, with England's spot in the knockouts confirmed and tonight's fixture a battle to see who finishes top, fans are confused and also disappointed at why he hasn't been included in the team.
England need to avoid defeat to finish second while a win would see them top the group and set up a tie with the runners-up of Group F - the Group of Death.
Should England lose and Scotland or Croatia win then the permutations become slightly more complex as Steve Clarke's side would need to win and overturn a three-goal deficit, whilst the Three Lions are safe from the Croatians leapfrogging them after their 1-0 win in the group opener.
