Liverpool fans send cheeky double transfer message to Gini Wijnaldum

Liverpool fans have sent a double message to midfielder Gini Wijnaldum after he tweeted a picture of himself alongside Dutch national teammate Memphis Depay.

Depay hasn’t played for French club Lyon since December 2019 due to injury, but had scored 14 goals in just 19 games prior to that in what was proving to be a productive campaign for the winger.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Reds in the past, while Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a move for him according to reports in France today.

Liverpool supporters were quick to reply to the tweet with a common theme to their comments: sign Depay!

@BenFT_: You two need to play together at club level honestly unreal duo pending

@LFCTrxnt: Bring him to Liverpool lad!

@robinjava: Get him to Liverpool, we could use some options off the bench.

@cai_wen: Agent Gini at work?

Liverpool fans would also like to see Wijnaldum pen a new deal.

The 29-year-old's contract will expire next summer should he not agree an extension before then. Should he not sign an extension before January, he would then be able to negotiate with teams abroad over a possible free transfer next summer.

@SadioMane10i: Sign the deal & bring him to LFC mate

@TGustafsen: WELL DONE Memphis now sign contracts both of you!

Liverpool's players have around a week remaining of the between-season break, with the Reds expected back for pre-season training in around seven day's time.
