Liverpool fans say the same thing after Manchester City win vs Chelsea

Liverpool fans believe Manchester City still pose the biggest threat in the Premier League title race after Pep Guardiola's side defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel named a defensive side to face the reigning champions but his decision backfired as City dominated proceedings in London.

After an uneventful first-half, City took the lead through Gabriel Jesus and should have scored more but Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was in fine form to deny them.

The result takes City level on points with Chelsea after six games played, handing Liverpool the chance to move three points clear at the top with a win against Brentford after Manchester United lost against Aston Villa.

After Chelsea and United both failed to win, Liverpool fans believe that City remain their biggest rival in the Premier League title race ahead of their meeting at Anfield on October 3.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed before the Brentford fixture that Thiago Alcantara would miss the crucial game against City after suffering an injury in the win against Crystal Palace.

On the other hand, City look set to welcome both Aymeric Laporte and John Stones into the fold despite Guardiola claiming that both players were doubts for the game at Anfield.

Laporte started in the win against Chelsea while Stones was named on the bench.
