Liverpool fans teased the Kylian Mbappe transfer theory on social media on Monday evening as PSG superstar was pictured sitting alongside Virgil van Dijk at the 2019 Ballon d'Or awards.
Van Dijk eventually missed out to Lionel Messi for the top prize while Mbappe finished sixth. Liverpool's Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah also made the top ten.

Supporters have recently started an 'Mbappe2020' hashtag on social media outlet Twitter in regards to Liverpool making a move for the striker next summer to bolster their ranks under Jurgen Klopp.
With the two paired next to each other in the seating plan it did nothing to cool the talk of a big-money switch to Anfield.
Fans urged Van Dijk to speak to Mbappe about the transfer while one commented: "You know what's going to happen."
