Liverpool fans respond to Jack Grealish Man City transfer

Liverpool fans have been reacting online as Manchester City close in on the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

According to multiple reports, City will break the British transfer record to land the Aston Villa star with Grealish expected to complete his £100m transfer in the next 24 hours.

Grealish, it is claimed, is travelling to Manchester today in order to take his medical and put the finishing touches to the move.

The England international returned to Villa training on Monday and is believed to have held talks with Johan Lange, Christian Purslow and Nassef Sawiris over his Lions future.

Villa had previously offered Grealish a bumper new contract in the region of £200,000-a-week in a bid to keep him at the club.

But it now appears that the midfielder will make the move to Manchester in a deal that will further strengthen Pep Guardiola's squad.

And here is how Liverpool supporters have been reacting to the news of the move on Twitter.

Speaking on transfers earlier this summer, City boss Guardiola said: "I imagine that if we want to sign a Barca or Madrid player for 100 million or so, Barca and Madrid will not complain. They will be delighted that it can be done, I wish now they would.

"I don't know how the market will end. I don't know, with Txiki [Begiristain], what we can do because many times you want to do things that are not possible.

"What we can do, we will do and if we do not continue with the squad we have, with which we have won three Leagues in four years, we have finally reached a Champions League final.”
