Liverpool fans have hijacked a social media post from Ibrahima Konate.
The RB Leipzig defender has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield over the past couple of months, and the rumours are not going away,
The Echo understands that Konate is on a five-man centre-back shortlist that Liverpool are looking at this summer.
Despite the persistent rumours, Konate remains a Leipzig player and his latest post on Instagram shows his commitment to the club, for now at least.
Leipzig lost to Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, but still managed to secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.
Konate took to Instagram to post a picture of himself which was edited to have the Champions League logo on his shirt, accompanied by a caption tagging the competition’s account, Leipzig’s account, along with the cold face emoji.
Liverpool fans saw this post and made a similar point referencing the rumours linking Konate with a move to Anfield, as well as the unlikelihood of the club competing in the Champions League next season.
