Liverpool fans remind Raheem Sterling of key facts after 'just a game' tweet

Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media to tweets from Raheem Sterling after Man City’s win over their side.

Kevin De Bruyne's penalty put City ahead after Joe Gomez had brought down Raheem Sterling inside the box.

Sterling then added a second ten minutes before the half-time interval before Phil Foden netted a third in first-half stoppage time.

Substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain then turned the ball into his own net just after the hour-mark to condemn the Reds to just their second Premier League defeat this season.

And taking to Twitter after the game, Sterling wrote: “Wow so much abuse in here, its just a game people, you win some, you lose some.”

Before adding: “(but still happy to win it tonight have a good night).”

But Reds fans reacting to the posts were quick to remind Sterling of how far their side have come since his departure back in the summer of 2015.

Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions for the first time in their history last week after City lost 2-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are also on course for a record-breaking points haul prior after picking up an incredible 86 points from 32 matches so far this season.

The Reds have now added the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Premier League title to the Champions League trophy that they lifted on June 1 last year.
