Liverpool fans react as VAR disallows Sadio Mane's goal against Watford

Liverpool fans have taken aim at VAR after the technology ruled out Sadio Mane's second half header against Watford.

The Reds were leading 1-0 thanks to Mohamed Salah's first half opener when Mane looked to have made it two in the opening stages of the second half.

Xherdan Shaqiri whipped in a cross from the left before Mane produced a bullet header past Ben Foster at the Kop end.

Watford's players were quick to appeal to referee Andre Mariner to review the goal as they believed the former Southampton man was offside in the build-up.

And following a short review, the goal was chalked off with Mane judged to have strayed ever so slightly offside - although the margins were ever so tight.

Despite the call in the eyes of the law being correct, that hasn't stopped Liverpool fans from saying the same thing on social media.

The incident was similar Roberto Firmino's offside goal against Aston Villa in November,  where it was his 'armpit' that was over the line, however on this occasion it appeared it was Mane's hip that meant he was offside.
