Liverpool and Rangers fans reacted with delight to Steven Gerrard's side registering a thumping 8-0 win against Hamilton Academical on Sunday.
The Glasgow outfit were completely and utterly dominant throughout the match, continuing their fantastic form under the Reds legend.
Rangers, now nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, have won 16 of 18 matches this season, keeping 15 clean sheets and averaging 2.3 goals per game.
Gerrard told Rangers TV after the final whistle that it has been an aim of his to encourage his players to be more ruthless from the first whistle to the last.
"We have done that at times and it's annoyed me because I think we're not in a position or at a stage yet where I feel we can take our foot off the gas," he said.
"I want them to be the same all the time, standards all the time.
"We're representing Rangers, every minute is important. So I don't like to see players showing ego or coming off the gas.
"I want them to be relentless and ruthless and they were today."
Liverpool fans on Twitter joined supporters of the Scottish outfit to congratulate Gerrard on masterminding such a clinical performance, with some speculating that the 40-year-old could be next in line to take over the Anfield job.
