Liverpool fans rave over new undroppable player after Champions League win over RB Leipzig

Liverpool fans have urged Jurgen Klopp to retain Nat Phillips at centre-back for the rest of the season following the 23-year-old's impressive performance against RB Leipzig.

The defender had been expected to leave Anfield last summer, having found himself way down the Reds pecking order, and was left out of their Champions League squad for the tournament's group stages as a result.

However, injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have seen Phillips used sporadically so far this season by Klopp.

With Fabinho restored to midfield against Leipzig, having spent most of the campaign fielded as an emergency centre-back, Phillips caught the eye alongside Ozan Kabak at the heart of defence when making his Champions League debut against the Bundesliga outfit.

And with his impressive performance coming in an improved showing from the Reds, Liverpool fans have urged Klopp to stick with the young defender at the back and Fabinho in midfield for as long as the likes of Van Dijk remain sidelined.
