It’s not very often that we see James Milner unhappy with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Yet, after being substituted against West Ham and replaced by Curtis Jones, you could see the Liverpool veteran midfielder was visibly frustrated at being withdrawn.
At the time of the change, the game at the London Stadium was goalless and Liverpool were lacking that attacking spark in front of goal.
There was no Sadio Mane on the pitch, who missed the trip to the capital with a minor muscle issue.
Roberto Firmino was left on the bench, and Klopp opted to start the game with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi in the attacking third.
Klopp appeared to say to Milner on the touchline: “We have to do something”.....”So I put Jones on to do a bit more.”
Only a minute later, Jones was the creator for the move that led to Mohamed Salah opening the scoring to put Liverpool in front.
After Salah’s strike, Klopp called Milner over and the pair shared a hug and a laugh, clearly putting aside the disagreement they previously had.
Salah would go in to get a second goal at the London Stadium, courtesy of an excellent pass from Shaqiri in an exquisite counter attack.
