Liverpool fans notice what Pep Ljinders did as Jose Mourinho spoke to Jurgen Klopp at full-time

Tensions threatened to boil over at full time of Liverpool vs Tottenham.

Roberto Firmino scored what turned out to be the winner for the Reds as he headed home a corner with seconds to spare after Son Heung-min had cancelled out Mohamed Salah's deflected opener.

The result sees the defending champions open up a three-point gap over Spurs at the top of the Premier League table.

But arguably the biggest talking point from the game happened at the final whistle as there was an exchange on the touchline between Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp.

Jose Mourinho press conference after Liverpool defeat

Mourinho appeared to say something to Klopp which left the Liverpool boss laughing, but the Spurs head coach looked less than impressed.

In his post-match interview with Amazon Prime, Mourinho revealed what he told Klopp and took aim at the Reds boss over his actions on the touchline during the dramatic climax.

"I told him the best team lost and he disagreed, but that’s his opinion," he said. "By the way, if I behaved the same way on the touchline like he does, then I have no chance of staying there and I’m out for a minute.

"That’s animated?

"Do you want me to take the fourth official board from his hands and see what happens to me? For some reason, I am different."

And whilst this was happening, Liverpool fans have noticed what Klopp's assistant - Pep Ljinders was doing.

As spotted by @TheKopiteOFF and uploaded to Twitter, Ljinders was seen smiling in Mourinho's face as the Spurs boss was speaking to Klopp.

This moment was greatly received by two other Liverpool fans.

@peterfranc5 said: "Pep is legit having a good laugh at this. That’s exactly what I want to see!"

@inthesmoke said: "I think it was Pep that got to Mourinho celebrating the goal as well...."
