Liverpool fans notice what Mason Greenwood did after Manchester United goal

Liverpool fans have said the same thing about Mason Greenwood's goal celebration in Manchester United's 1-1 draw against Young Boys on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old gave the hosts the lead inside the opening 10 minutes at Old Trafford as he found himself in space and volleyed home a first-time effort with his left foot, but it was his goal celebration that caught the attention of Liverpool supporters.

Greenwood appeared to replicate Roberto Firmino's famous 'eye patch' celebration.

The Brazilian's celebration came about in September 2018 during a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Prior to the group stage match at Anfield, the Reds faced Tottenham in a Premier League clash and Firmino suffered an eye abrasion after a tangle with defender Jan Vertonghen.

The forward scored a stoppage time winner a few days later against PSG and he explained after the match that the celebration was to show there was no need for concern over his fitness.

It became one of Firmino's most famous goal celebrations and it seems it has now been replicated by United's Greenwood.

This isn't the first time the 30-year-old has had one of his celebrations emulated by another player.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe and Leeds United's Raphinha, as well as teammate Sadio Mane, have also copied celebrations, such as his famous spinning kicks.

Firmino remains sidelined with a 'serious' hamstring injury he sustained early in November, but returned to team training on Thursday.
