Liverpool fans notice something odd following RB Salzburg's first goal in Champions League group stage clash

Those inside Anfield briefly witnessed something strange during Liverpool's 4-3 Champions League victory over Salzburg on Wednesday.

It was the first time the Reds have played in front of their own crowd in the Champions League since they claimed their sixth European Cup in Madrid in June.

Despite falling to a 2-0 defeat in their opening group game away to Napoli, Jurgen Klopp's side responded in the best possible way by racing into a 3-0 lead at Anfield.

Sadio Mane fired the hosts ahead, Andy Robertson then made it 2-0, before Mohammed Salah put Klopp's side in complete control after 36 minutes.

But to their credit, the Austrian giants hit-back before the interval through Hwang Hee-Chan and eventually made it 3-3 before Salah decided the game with his second of the night.

Not only was it the first goal Liverpool have conceded at home in the Champions League since Kylian Mbappe scored for PSG over a year ago, however, but the famous Anfield scoreboard initially noted the visitors goal down as three rather than one.

A spooky premonition, perhaps? It is October!

Thankfully, though, the error was quickly fixed - despite Salzburg making it 3-3 during the second-half.
