Liverpool fans notice familiar Virgil van Dijk sight just before Mohamed Salah goal against Atletico Madrid

Liverpool fans have noticed what Virgil van Dijk did during the recent victory over Atletico Madrid.

The Reds claimed a memorable 3-2 victory over the La Liga outfit in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side opened the scoring when a deflected Mohamed Salah strike found the back of the net in the early stages.

Naby Keita doubled the visitors lead at the Wanda Metropolitano, but Liverpool’s advantage was wiped out with a brace from Antoine Griezmann.

Salah got on the scoresheet again in the second half with a penalty that would go on to be the winner in the Spanish capital.

The result leaves Liverpool top of Group B with nine points, and five clear of second placed Atletico with three games left to play.

After plenty of deliberation with the relevant people at UEFA, Liverpool’s first goal was eventually credited to Salah.

With the various replays and angles of the goal, plenty of eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have spotted Van Dijk’s reaction moments before the ball finds the back of the net.

While Salah skips past a handful of Atletico players, Van Dijk can be seen in the background raising his arms in preempted celebration seconds back Salah shoots.

This is similar to James Milner’s reaction before Salah scored his sublime solo goal in the Premier League clash at Watford last weekend.

Van Dijk has often raised his arms in celebration moments before Salah takes aim, and given the forward has 12 goals to his name in 11 appearances this term it's becoming a regular occurrence.
