Liverpool fans name best and worst stadiums in England with surprise favourite

Liverpool fans have voted which stadiums they believe are the best, and the worst, in the Premier League.

Reds supporters have regularly followed their team up and down the country, and across Europe, in pretty much every competition possible in recent years. Some have been visited on one-off occasions, while others require annual treks for fans to make.

Here at the ECHO, we gave readers the opportunity to vote for which stadiums they felt were the best and the worst to visit as Liverpool fans. The results are in, and some of them make for compelling reading - it’s worth mentioning that Anfield was not an option for either choice.

Maybe surprisingly, the stadium that Liverpool fans most like to visit is the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After opening in March 2019, the Reds have played there three times so far, and it’s received 22.8% of the vote.

Liverpool have won two and drawn one in their three matches in the relatively new stadium so far. Their most recent encounter was the 2-2 draw in November.

Other notable stadiums in the frame are Wembley Stadium, which received 20.1% of the vote, and Newcastle’s St James’ Park with 12.9%. Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is also at the top end in fans’ eyes with 7.1% of the vote.

At the other end of the spectrum, Liverpool fans have also voted for the worst stadiums to visit as an away fan. Rather unsurprisingly, Manchester United’s Old Trafford is top of the list with 29.3% of the vote.

Next on the list comes Everton’s Goodison Park, which earned 21.1% of the vote. That’s followed by Man City’s Etihad Stadium (13.2%) and Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge (3.6%).
