Liverpool fans must forget the nerves and back the team at Anfield, says Dion Dublin

Liverpool fans have again been accused of going quiet when their team are struggling.

Anfield was noticeably quiet during the second half as the Reds tried and failed to break down a Bayern Munich team happy to soak up the pressure.

Virgil van Dijk spoke out three weeks over the apparent nervous in the home crowd as Leicester City earned a point at Anfield to dent Liverpool's title hopes.

"You get that feeling [of nervousness] from the crowd and I think it’s not really necessary at the moment," he told the Guardian. "But everyone wants to win so bad and that’s what we want as well. But sometimes you need to be very patient.”

Former Liverpool striker Dion Dublin feels the same tension was evident on Tuesday night as Bayern thwarted the hosts.

"I was hoping the fans would have been a bit louder, it was very quiet," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"I think the fans were a bit nervous. If you don't get a goal, you can't relax."

He said: "The bigger picture is that Liverpool are still in it, it's a good result at home, they haven't conceded and they've got every chance of going to Bayern and winning the game.

"I just believe they could have given themselves a better chance by creating more at Anfield."
