Liverpool fans make Trent Alexander-Arnold point after Kyle Walker performance for England

Plenty of Liverpool fans are in agreement after watching England’s Euro 2020 opener against Croatia.

The Three Lions took on Croatia at Wembley Stadium in their first group stage match on Sunday afternoon.

There were no Liverpool players included in the starting line-up, with Jordan Henderson left on the bench by Gareth Southgate.

There was also no Trent Alexander-Arnold in the squad, who was forced to withdraw from the tournament after picking up a thigh injury during a warm up game.

Southgate picked Manchester City’s Kyle Walker to play at right-back at Wembley, while Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier was in an unfavoured left-back role.

After the first half performance saw England go into the break goalless, plenty of Liverpool fans took to social media to compare Walker’s abilities at right-back with those of Alexander-Arnold.

Here is a selection of what they had to say.

England kicked off their group campaign with a win against Croatia after Raheem Sterling netted his first goal at a major tournament for his country.

It was the first time in 10 attempts that England won their first group game of a European Championship.
