Liverpool fans make the same point about referee Mike Dean during West Brom game

Liverpool fans were left unimpressed by Mike Dean's performance at the Hawthorns, pointing out some questionable decisions during the 2-1 win at West Brom.

The Reds trailed 1-0 at the Hawthorns after an early goal from Hal Robson-Kanu, who took advantage of some poor defending to put the already-relegated Baggies ahead.

Liverpool hit back thanks to an equaliser from Mohamed Salah, who lashed in a first-time shot from the edge of the area after the ball rebounded his way following good work from Sadio Mane.

The Reds were penalised for 11 fouls during the first half, whilst the Baggies only four, with fans suggesting Dean was guilty of awarding several soft fouls against their side.

Liverpool were given a helping hand by the referee for their equaliser though, as Salah lashed the ball in from the edge of the box.

However, replays showed that in the build-up to the goal, Liverpool were incorrectly awarded a free-kick after Dean accidentally interfered with play.

Fabinho gave the ball away after a pass from Roberto Firmino, with Dean deeming he was in the way of the Brazilian and awarded the Reds a free-kick.

Fabinho then put the ball down quickly, with Connor Gallagher out of position, which led to Salah's goal.

Liverpool then were handed another touch of fortune when Kyle Bartley's header was ruled out. VAR viewed that a West Brom attacker, stood ahead of Bartley, interfered with play.

An eventful game reached a remarkable conclusion when Reds keeper Alisson headed in an injury time winner from a corner.

The result leaves Liverpool just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Next up for the Reds is a trip to Burnley before the final fixture at home to Crystal Palace.
