Had they kept 11 men on the pitch they probably would have been celebrating a first away win since January, but with Son Heung-min seeing red for a challenge on Andre Gomes that left the Portuguese with a fractured ankle, Spurs could not hold on to the lead handed them by Dele Alli.
It was that opening goal from Alli that had Liverpool fans everywhere making the same joke on Sunday evening.
Alli stroked home the opener on 63 minutes, after Son had capitalised on a mistake from Alex Iwobi to set him up.
And as is usual when a goal is scored, popular fantasy football game Fantasy Premier League tweeted out the details of the goal to its followers so players would know who would be getting points.
From the @OfficialFPL account, the tweet went out: Goal - ALLI Assist - SON Everton 0-1 Spurs (63 mins).
And that led to a barrage of responses from Liverpool supporters, who did not fail to notice that the goalscorer and assister combined was extremely close to the name of their goalkeeper - Alisson.
