Liverpool fans make Mohamed Salah point after Sergio Ramos injury confirmed by Real Madrid

Plenty of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news that Sergio Ramos looks set to be absent for Real Madrid for the upcoming Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Reds take on the La Liga giants in the last-eight of the competition, with the first leg in Madrid on Tuesday next week.

It was built up with the expectation that Mohamed Salah would be able to go up against Ramos again for the first time since the 2018 Champions League final, where he departed early on with a shoulder injury.

Real have confirmed that their club captain has picked up a muscle injury in his leg, but have not specified a timeframe for his absence.

Spanish journalist Alfredo Martinez said the 35-year-old would be out for "about a month”, which would also rule him out of the return leg at Anfield on April 14.

Ramos himself has sent a message following the news, where he expressed his disappointment.

After the news was confirmed by Real, plenty of Liverpool fans took to social media to give their thoughts and emotions.

Here is a selection of what they had to say.

TheGerrardEra: “Ramos saw Salah scored a brace in his last game and made the decision to duck the Salah test.”

LFCfooty: “Our front three against Real Madrid without Ramos would be fun to watch.”

Martin Gillies: “He doesn’t want to face Mo.”

Aman: “This actually makes the game more fair, exciting and super entertaining, although I am sure Mo will be disappointed, at least a little bit.”

Paul Lennon: “I refuse to believe Madrid aren't just pranking us all.”

Nk84: “April fools written all over this!”
