After another 1-0 win for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool fans began to make comparisons between them and one of the Reds’ previous title challenges.
Heung-Min Son scored the decisive goal against Watford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side continued their perfect start to the league season.
Previous 1-0 wins over Manchester City and Wolves mean that Spurs currently sit top of the table, ahead of the first international break.
However, some Liverpool fans were less than convinced of the North London side’s title credentials, suggesting that the club would soon fall away - as well as it being a similar start to Liverpool’s 2nd place finish in the 2013/14 campaign.
Here is how Reds reacted on Twitter:

Under Brendan Rodgers, the Reds recorded early 1-0 victories against Stoke, Aston Villa and Manchester United, with Daniel Sturridge scoring all three goals.
This was not quite a true indication of things to come, however, as the club waited for Luis Suarez to complete his 10-game ban before the Uruguayan scored 31 of Liverpool’s total 101 goals, in a consistently high-scoring team.
With Harry Kane, like Suarez in 2013, attracting interest from other clubs before ultimately staying put, Spurs have already exceeded early season predictions with such a bright start.
Having finished 7th last season after the departure of Jose Mourinho, combined with the speculation surrounding their talisman, Tottenham could yet prove to be surprise contenders for the top four.
