Liverpool fans make Alexander Isak transfer demand after Sweden performance

Time has already run out for Liverpool to add to their squad this summer as the transfer window slammed shut on Tuesday night.

However, supporters are already looking ahead to the January transfer window, with many left frustrated the Reds failed to add an attacker to their ranks.

Sweden international Alexander Isak lit up the Euros this year and he is already shining on the international stage once again.

A number of clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, were linked with a move for the 21-year-old this summer, but nothing materialised before the deadline.

Isak started for Sweden in their World Cup qualifier against Spain on Tuesday and was on the scoresheet within five minutes of the 2-1 victory.

The 21-year-old's finish left a number of Liverpool fans thinking he'd be a brilliant acquisition for the Reds.

"I wanted Isak badly at Liverpool, I rate him very highly," one supporter tweeted.

Another said: "Isak x Liverpool would be a match made in heaven."

One added: "Wages will be cheaper than Haaland, Isak should be purchased by Liverpool."

Isak joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and has scored 33 goals in 91 appearances for the club.

Last season the striker found the back of the net 17 times in La Liga and was the sixth top goalscorer in the league behind the likes of Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez.

Isak was just 17 when he made his senior debut for Sweden and he's scored six goals in 17 caps for his country.

Liverpool may have opted against signing an attacker this summer, but he is certainly one to keep an eye on this season given his age.
