Curtis Jones grabbed all the headlines after his sublime goal separated the two teams.

However, the debut of Takumi Minamino left Liverpool fans questioning how they prized their latest addition away from Red Bull Salzburg for just £7.25m.

The Japanese international lasted 70 minutes of his first Anfield appearance and gave supporters a glimpse of what they can expect to see in the future.  

Operating as an advanced midfielder, operating between the lines, Minamino showed Liverpool why they can feel quietly confident the 23-year-old can fill in for any of their dynamic front three.
